Lawrence Calvin Wood, 77, widower of Grace Abner Wood, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022. Born in Stanford, KY, he was the son of the late James and Bernice Monroe Wood.
A US Navy veteran, he loved cars, racing, a good wrestling match, but mostly cherished time with this family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Leslie (Sicily) Wood, Nicholasville, Larry Wood, Stanford and Ryan (Reitha) Manis, Cynthiana; brother, Louis (Alberta) Wood, Stanford; as well as eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Virginia Curtsinger, Robert wood and James V. Wood, Jr.
A graveside service will be 1:30 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, KY. IN lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/). www.johnsonsfuneralhome.com
