The Reverend Dr. Jeremy Johnson is the new minister of the Stanford Christian Church, effective March 1, 2020.
At the close of the Feb. 16 service, the congregation voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the church board and call Johnson as its new minister.
Johnson is currently the Pastor of Family Ministry at the Eubank Baptist Church in Pulaski County, a position he has held the past eight years. Johnson graduated from Lincoln County High School in 2003 and Georgetown College in 2007. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Seminary in 2011. In May 2020, Johnson will receive his Doctor of Ministry degree from Southern Baptist Seminary.
Johnson, his wife Tiffany and their two sons, Micah,10, and Asher, 5, live in Stanford.
The Stanford Christian Church, which began in 1834 and has been at its current location at 200 East Main Street since 1881, anticipates serving the needs of this community for many more years and the calling of a new minister to lead the church is a part of this continuing process.
Sunday worship service begins at 10:50 a.m. and all are welcome.
