Snow Princess, Duchess and Countess applications accepted through Dec. 3

If you are thinking about entering your child in the  annual Snow Princess, Duchess and Countess contests, your time is quickly running out.

Applications for each of the royal contests are being accepted now through Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The winner in each contest will be crowned following the annual Christmas parade in downtown Stanford on Saturday, Dec. 7.

This year’s parade, themed “Christmas on the Wilderness Trail,” is set to roll along Danville Avenue and down onto Main Street beginning at 6:30 p.m..

The tradition of crowning winter royalty, namely the Snow Princess, Snow Duchess and Snow Countess will follow on the steps of the Lincoln County Courthouse.

Applications for all royalty contests are now available and can be picked up at Morgan’s on Main or printed from lincolncountychamber.com.

The Snow Princess contest is open to girls ages 4-6, Snow Duchess is for girls ages 7-9 and Snow Countess is open to ages 10 through middle school. Contestants will need a male escort and a driver and car.

The entry fee is $20.

Contestants will be judged on personal appearance, interview and poise. Interviews will be held on Dec. 3 at Fort Logan Hospital. Snow Princess interviews begin at 6 p.m., Snow Duchess at 6:30 and Snow Countess at 7.
