Press release
STANFORD — For the fifth consecutive year, Farmers National Bank will be making a $5,000 donation to Lincoln County Schools for a cumulative total of $25,000. This annual donation serves as a grant for many different committees/clubs within the school district.
The Farmers National Bank Grant is available to organizations who apply for help with learning projects, clubs, family resource centers and athletics. Most of the requests for funding are between $250-$300 per school group.
“Thanks to loyal customers and communities, Farmers National Bank is committed to the prosperity of those we serve. Supporting education, economic growth and development within our markets is an investment we do not take lightly,” said Donya Saylor, Assistant Vice President of Farmers National Bank.
Since July of 2018, the grant has benefited over 15 different school groups or teams. Some of the grant has gone toward LCMS football travel bags, LCHS soccer benches, LCHS senior class cook-out, school supplies for elementary schools, community outreach projects, FFA Spring Banquet sponsorship, Happy Feet (shoes and socks), and LCHS girls golf team fees and shirts. Additionally, $1,350 of the grant is set aside for Lincoln Athletics annually. These funds help buy uniforms and pay for expenses outside of the normal athletics budget.
Farmers National Bank supports public schools in their four county market area (where they physically have a banking location). This includes Lincoln, Boyle, Garrard and Mercer Counties.
School groups can apply for the Farmers National Bank Grant by contacting Lincoln County Schools Finance Officer Marsha Abel via email at marsha.abel@lincoln.kyschools.us.
