Fort Logan nurse recognized for extraordinary service

DANVILLE — Gina Masters, R.N., a nurse in the Acute Care unit at Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital (EMFLH) is the recipient of the DAISY Award in recognition of her extraordinary patient care.
Masters, who has been caring for patients at EMFLH for nearly 17 years, was one of many nurses nominated for the award.
The Rockcastle County resident was nominated by several co-workers.
“Gina is an excellent nurse,” one of the co-workers said. “She is dependable, reliable, and trustworthy. She takes excellent care of her patients and of all the patients whether assigned to them or not. She works well with the physicians and staff. She is well educated and always up on new orders, procedures, etc. Gina is a role model to all of us.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout EMFLH, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
