DANVILLE – Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Gina Shelburne, R.N., a nurse on the Medical/Surgical floor, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Boyle County, Gina has been caring for patients at EMRMC for over two-and-a-half years.
She was nominated by a patient and their family member. The patient said, “During my stay, Gina was very attentive to my needs. She kept me informed of my situation at all times and educated me on my medications. Gina always portrayed professionalism and has a very positive demeanor. Gina would always be smiling when she entered my room asking if I needed anything even if I didn’t push the call button. Gina is a true professional and sets a great example for others to emulate.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day.
Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout EMRMC, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital and Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital.
