The Women’s Missionary of the South District Association will hold its annual prayer breakfast on Saturday, June 8 at 9 a.m. at South Maple Street Baptist Church, Somerset. Rev. Yusef Franklin is the host pastor.

The South District and all of its auxiliaries will host its 151st Convention on June 11-13 at First Baptist Church, Springfield, whereas Rev. Eugene Livers is the host pastor. The theme preacher will be Rev. E. A. Duke of Glasgow, pastor of Owen’s Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Tommy Calhoun, pastor of First Baptist Church, Lebanon is the district moderator.

Rev. Reginald Pullums is expecting 100 men to show up at the Bethel AME Church, Bonevyille on Saturday, June 22 at 4 p.m. for the 100 Men in Black Conference which will consist of a unity workshop. The workshop presenter will be Minister Robert J. Lewis. Rev. Kyle Pernell of Morehead, Mississippi will be the conference preacher. Men are asked to wear black.

Mrs. Tina Simpson has been released from the hospital and is now resting at her home.

Mrs. Marie Routt has been released from Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Lucille Helm is a patient at Fort Logan Hospital after falling and breaking her hip.

Mrs. Regina Ann Williams of Atlanta, Georgia spent several days with Ms. Barthenia Brown.

Mr. Jimmy Salter of Canton, Ohio, spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gooch.

Mr. and Mrs. Willis Patton of Lexington visited his sister, Mrs. Wilma Gooch.

Mrs. LaSonia Turner of Clayton, North Carolina has returned home after spending several days with her mother, Mrs. Janette Napier.

Mrs. Georgia Givens and Mrs. Pam Givens Horne of Indianapolis, Indiana spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Oneith Fitzgerald.
