Annual chamber banquet to feature promotional film, awards

STANFORD – It’s that time again. Time for the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce to recognize a new group of individuals and businesses for their contributions to the community and its citizens as it doles out its annual awards.

The annual Chamber banquet will be held April 16 at Lincoln County High School. The dinner and social hour/raffle will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. The remainder of the program moves to the Stuart Underwood Auditorium and begins at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s banquet offers a few changes, with the unveiling of a promotional film produced by the Lincoln County High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Club taking the place of a keynote speaker and a new award added to the slate of honors.

The film produced by the FBLA students highlights the different businesses in the community.

The Chamber will introduce a new award at this year’s banquet, with the presentation of the first ever Youth Impact Award.

Lincoln County Chamber Director Andrea Miller said the new award will honor someone who has volunteered their time to make the youth in our community better and provide a good role model experience.

With the addition of the Youth Impact award, there are now nine awards that will be presented at this year’s banquet.The other awards include the Big Apple; Healthcare Service; Outstanding Famer; June King Bastin Service to Community; Responder of the Year; Humanitarian; Business of the Year; and Citizen of the Year.

As is tradition, the Lincoln County Cattlemen’s Association will be cooking steaks for the meal prior to the program. Dessert will be provided by Sweets by Cindy. A variety of raffle items will be on display during the social hour. A total of 30 raffle tickets may be purchased for $25.
