Simon Caudill, nephew of Dorothy Morhinners, passed away last week. We are thinking of the Dowell family at this time.

The Vicki Irvin family is in our thoughts at this time in the passing of her father Edgar Rogers last week.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, Sept. 21 for the Ottenheim 135th celebration. Lots will be going on, like a German band, auction, food, car show, vendors and more. This is a time of visiting and a day of enjoyment. There will be more information at a later date.

The daffodils are blooming, even though there is so much rainy weather they seem to survive.

The farmers are having a hard time with the cattle. Their udders lay in the mud and germs get in the opening. Their bodies are getting stressed trying to cope with the changing weather.

When the weather got warmer last week and with all the rain, the nightcrawler worms came to the top of the ground at night. The next morning when my grandson turned his chickens out, it looked like they were at a picnic, running around picking up worms that remained above the ground. Nature sure takes care of itself.

Call a shut-in person this week and put a smile on their face.
