MORELAND – Lincoln County firefighters were called to the scene of a barn fire Saturday morning.
It was about 9 a.m. Saturday when firefighters responded to Harris Creek Road where a barn was in flames.
According to Captain Sean Reardon of Fire Station No. 3, firefighters had the blaze under control by about 9:37 a.m. and cleared the scene by about 11:30 a.m.
The cause of the fire was undetermined as of Sunday but Reardon said, due to the presence of electricity in the barn, it was likely caused by an electrical issue.
No injuries were reported but the barn was deemed a total loss.
Reardon said Station No. 3 firefighters were assisted on scene by all Lincoln County Fire Departments, as well as the Hustonville Fire Department and Lincoln County EMS.
Monday house fire
Firefighters from Stations No. 1 and 3 also responded to a small house fire on Spring Valley Road Monday.
According to officials the owner of the home was at the residence when he noticed his house was filling up with smoke.
Residents evacuated the structure and called 911 for assistance.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to a three-by-three-foot area, keeping the smoke and fire from extending to the rest of the house.
No injuries were reported and the home was released back to the owner.
