Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital (EMFLH) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for his extraordinary patient care. Nathan Smith, RN, a nurse in the Operating Room at EMFLH, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Lincoln County, Nathan has been caring for patients at EMFLH for more than eight years.
He was nominated by several coworkers and patients. One of the patients said, “I ended up having surgery twice within a week. Nathan was one of my nurses for both surgeries. Nathan always made sure I had what I needed. He explained all of my paperwork thoroughly and helped me laugh a little through the scary time.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout EMFLH, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
