STANFORD — The community will have the opportunity to hear from candidates running for local offices during a Lincoln County Political Candidate Forum on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
Sponsored by the Stanford Lions Club/Leo Club, the non-partisan forum will be broadcast live over WPBK-FM from the Stanford Baptist Christian Life Center beginning at 7 p.m. WPBK is 102.9 on the radio dial.
All local candidates have been sent an invitation and they will each be introduced to listeners and given time to address some questions submitted by local residents.
Partisan candidates will be asked the same question with the same amount of time allocated to answer the question.
Non-partisan candidates will be asked random questions – with all having the same amount of time to answer that question. These questions may not be the same for each candidate. (Please note: There will be no time for rebuttal)
If you have a question that you would like addressed, please send it to Lion Bob Swett at 207-239-4766 or bobswett51@gmail.com or Lion John David Friend at 859-583-7682 or jdf@friendfuneralhomes.com.
If you would like to attend the forum, the cost is $5.
Prior to the forum, the Lions/Leos will be hosting a barbecue dinner catered by Mike Poynter. The meal is from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at the Christian Life Center.
Any candidate, or individual, may purchase a table for six for dinner at $100 or individual tickets may be purchased at $20 each, with all proceeds from the event going toward the newly formed teen Leo Club. The cost also includes admittance to the forum.
Please RSVP, for dinner, NO LATER THAN Tuesday, Oct. 23. Contact Lion Swett or Lion Friend.
