LIBERTY – Galilean Home Ministries, a donation-funded non-profit that provides children of all ages a place to call home, hosts their annual Quilt and Craft Auction during the second weekend of every October. The quilts and crafts are donated from all over the United States and Canada and always feature some beautiful, handmade items.
This year, the event will take place Friday, Oct. 12 and Saturday, Oct. 13 on their campus in Liberty. On Friday night, the event kicks off with a spaghetti supper in the Main House at 4:30 p.m. followed by a program with the Galilean Family featuring singing and testimony beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Galilean Gym. The craft auction will follow the program. Saturday morning begins with a pancake breakfast in the Main House beginning at 7 a.m. The Quilt Auction begins in the Galilean Gym at 10 a.m. There will be concessions available along with homemade baked goods and other food options throughout the day on Saturday. A “buy-now” section will be set up in the Galilean Gym with a wide range of quilts, crafts and other items at affordable prices. Many of the donated items in the auction, and in the “buy-now” corner, come from Amish and Mennonite communities. Tours of the ministry’s campus will be given both Friday evening and during the day Saturday on a regular schedule.
The 22-acre campus is home to over 30 full-time residents while also operating a Prek-12 private school (the Galilean Christian Academy) which averages over 75 students yearly. The Galilean Home is also home to Born Free Ministries which cares for babies, toddlers and children of incarcerated mothers (along with fathers and mothers in other situations) with the goal of keeping those families together. ”
Every dollar raised will directly benefit the operations of Galilean Home Ministries.
The campus of the Galilean Home is located at 712 South Fork Church Road in Liberty,
