It’s hard to believe there will no longer be a Boone’s Hardware. The Boone family has been in Stanford for many a year. The feed store by the creek was a gathering place for farmers and then the move to Main Street Hardware. Leroy and Nancy were so friendly and knew just about everyone. Now, the Kirkpatrick family, who has owned it, is selling. The store will be greatly missed.
We are proud of our young people. Katherine Rowe, of Ottenheim, is one of the 2019 Distinguished Young Women candidates of Lincoln County High School. Congratulations to all the girls!
The Ottenheim annual picnic was well attended on September 2. A good crowd enjoyed the afternoon visiting, we saw a lot of old and new friends. Thanks to all for making this a huge success. By next year, we hope to have a new outdoor building to hold functions in, instead of having to use a tent from Ford Brothers.
Mt. Hebron Baptist Church on Chestnut Ridge will be having a homecoming dinner on Sunday, Sept. 16 after the church service. The Farm Hands Bluegrass Gospel Group will be performing at 6 p.m. at the church. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy some good music and singing.
The greatest thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother.
