Holiday Closing

The Lincoln County Health Department will be closed Friday, Dec. 29 and Monday, Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year’s holiday.

Tax preparation class

Patriot Tax Service will hold classes (no charge) of tax preparation starting December 5 and running through January 11. The class will meet Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stanford office. For more information, contact Marsha at (859) 583-0798.

American Legion Post 18 monthly meetings

The American Legion Post 18 in Stanford meets the first Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. at the Lincoln County Public Library, second floor. All veterans are welcome.

Square Dance lessons

Fort Logan Pioneer Square Dance lessons are now available at First Southern Veterans Park community building, 567 Goshen Rd., Stanford from 7 to 9 p.m. Learn Western Square Dancing and line dancing. First two lessons are free. Call Judy at (606) 669-0133 or Jerry at (859) 410-4556.

Bingo-Cize

Lincoln County Senior Citizens Center presents Bingo-Cize every Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m in the center’s dining room. Age 60 and over. Free class. Call (606) 365-9016 to register.

Waynesburg  SBDM Council to meet

Waynesburg Elementary’s SBDM Council will meet on: January 18, 2018; February 15, March 15, April 19,  and May 17. All meetings will be held at 4 p.m. in the school library.

Hustonville Site-Based Council meetings

Hustonville Elementary’s SBDM Council will meet on January 18 at 4:30 p.m., February 15 at 4:30 p.m., March 15 at 4:30 p.m., April 19 at 4:30 p.m., and May 17 at 4:30 p.m.

Highland SBDM Council Meetings

Highland Elementary’s SBDM Council will meet on January 17, February 21, March 21, April 18, May 16 and June 13. The meetings will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the school library. Note this is the third Wednesday of the month with the exception for December and June these were changed due to existing conflicts.

Good Grief Support Group

The Good Grief Support Group will meet from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the second and last Thursday of each month at the Lincoln County Public Library. Join our caring, compassionate atmosphere as we share life experience and understanding in times of grief and bereavement. Snacks and coffee will be provided. New book store seeks local artists

The Rabbit Hole, a new book store in town is looking for local artists to display their work at the store, located at 713 E Main, Stanford. If you are interested, please contact Mary at (606) 510-1156.

Lions Club monthly meetings

The Lions Club meets on the first and third Mondays of every month at the Lincoln County Public Library. The public is encouraged to attend and are invited to join the Lions Club. Cedar Creek Sportsman Club meetings

The Cedar Creek Sportsman Club meets every third Tuesday of the month with a meeting and meal. Membership is $60/year. Anyone wanting to rent building, please contact Phyllis Adams at (606) 355-0276.

Stanford Rotary Club meetings

The Stanford Rotary Club meets most Mondays at noon, at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Open Mic Night is every Friday night at 7 p.m. at the historic L&N Depot.

Arthritis Foundation Exercise Class/Strong Women Program: Presented by the Lincoln County Health Dept. is held Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:30 at the Lincoln County Public Library. We will focus on flexibility and strength training exercises. New participants are always welcome.
