Lincoln County Retired Teacher, Thelma Blair, was recently honored at the Central Kentucky-East District of Kentucky Retired Teachers as their Volunteer of the Year. Ms. Blair previously was selected as Volunteer of the Year for Lincoln County for 2017. She spends many hours each year working with Retired Teacher/AARP backpack program and school supplies program for Lincoln County Schools, as well as the Fort Logan Ministries Food bank.

She has served as our local president and district president for Retired Teachers Association. In those capacities, she lobbied for the continuation and funding of our Pension Plan through letter writing and attending hearings and legislative sessions in Frankfort. Thelma participated in the local effort to educate active teachers about their pension and the need to plan for retirement.
