Girdler receives committee appointments
FRANKFORT – Kentucky Senate Majority Caucus Leadership recently announced the committee assignments of Senator-elect Rick Girdler, who will represent Kentucky’s 15th Senatorial District in the upcoming 2017 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly.
“I am excited to receive these significant committee assignments and am looking forward to the start of my first legislative session as a Kentucky state senator,” Girdler said. “I recently had the opportunity of meeting all of my colleagues from the Senate Majority Caucus at our retreat in Paducah, and it is clear that this group will have a lot of momentum going into 2017.”
Senator-elect Girdler was named as a member of the Senate standing committees on Appropriations and Revenue, Banking and Insurance, and Economic Development, Tourism, and Labor. He was also selected as a member of the Budget Review Subcommittee on Economic Development, Natural Resources, and Environmental Protection. Additionally, Girdler was chosen as a member of the Capitol Projects and Bond Oversight statutory committee.
“I am happy to welcome Senator-elect Girdler to the Kentucky General Assembly and he will be a great addition to our Senate Majority Caucus,” Senator Stivers said. “I expect Senator-elect Girdler will be a valuable asset on all of the committees to which he has been assigned, but I am especially excited to see what he will bring to the Banking and Insurance Committee given his experience as an insurance professional.”
