In celebration of Extension Homemakers Week, the Lincoln County Homemakers have planned a very special week of activities.
On Monday, Oct. 10, there will be a contest for the best pumpkin pie and also, the best decorated cake. Entries must arrive at the extension office by 1 p.m. No professional decorators are eligible. Ribbons will be awarded. Items may be picked up at 2:30 p.m.
Your plans for the week must include lunch at the extension office on Tuesday, Oct. 11. The menu will feature beans with “fixin’s”, fried potatoes, cornbread, dessert and drink for $5. The lunch runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 12 is “Paint a Pumpkin” day from 10 a.m. to noon. You can show your artistic skills by decorating a pumpkin in your favorite style. All materials will be furnished, but there will be a fee of $2 to cover the cost of the pumpkin.
If your life is hectic and you need to unwind, plan to be at the extension office on Thursday, Oct. 13 for “coloring time” from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. All materials will be furnished. Just bring yourself and a friend, if you wish.
The week will end with a game night event on Friday, Oct. 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. Homemaker members are asked to bring their favorite finger foods and games. Guests are encouraged to come and learn more about the omemaker organization.
