Stephen Dale Smith, 81, of Moreland passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021. Born August 19, 1940, he was the son of the late Stephen America Smith and Lena Elizabeth Lawson Sandidge. Dale was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Judy Brown Smith and sister, Diane Trailor. Dale was a US Army Veteran. He was a faithful member of Moreland Christian Church for over 50 years where he served as an elder and Sunday School teacher. His passion was visiting others to encourage and share his faith. He had worked as a tool and die machinist at Whirlpool, Matsushita, and Brake Parks. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and spending time with his dogs. Survivors include 2 sons, Stephen Arthur Smith of Moreland and Nathan Ashley Smith of Danville and sister, Dixie (Elwood) Brown of Stanford. Visitation is 5-8 pm, Tuesday at Moreland Christian Church. Funeral Service is 10 am Wednesday at Moreland Christian Church with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Springs Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers are Eric Bottoms, Chris Brown, Brian Kelley, Jay Jackson, Kevin Simpkins, and Ethan Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Church Elders: Gary Griffin, Jim Kelley, Paul Rankin, Brad Smith, and Elwood Brown. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Moreland Christian Church.
