Austin Wethington, of Hustonville, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. He was 23.
Born on November 9, 2000, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was the son of Jeff Wethington. Austin was a lineman for Inter-County Energy. He enjoyed soccer, hunting, and North Carolina basketball. He was a member of Moreland Christian Church and a 2019 graduate of Lincoln County High School.
He is survived by his family that raised him, Ashley and Brent Atwood and Kevin and Angie Wethington; fiancé, Jasmine Whited; his father, Jeff Wethington; siblings, Kaydin Atwood, Laikyn Atwood, Emmett Atwood, Ethan Wethington, Devin Wethington, and Colin Wethington; and grandparents, Velma Wethington, Bob and Elaine Atwood, Sally Dotson, Patty Clements, and Marcella Clements. Other survivors include his soon-to-be mother and father in-law, John and Jynise Whited; soon-to-be sister in-law, Jada Whited; and special friends, Ethan Whitis, Ellie Jenkins, Jay and Kayla Whitis, Jarred Long, Ashley Graves, Wyatt Hon, and Allyson Long.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Moreland Christian Church with Bro. David Smith and Bro. Ethan Smith officiating. Burial will be held at Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Moreland Christian Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be his fellow employees of Inter-County Energy and his LCHS soccer teammates.
