Tennessee man indicted on sexual abuse charges in Lincoln County

STANFORD – A Tennessee man has been indicted by a Lincoln County grand jury on charges of sexual abuse involving two victims under 12 years old. 

Adam Charles Joseph Denson, 23, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, was indicted by a grand jury on March 8. 

According to the indictment, Denson allegedly committed the offense of sexual abuse by subjecting a minor under the age of 12 to sexual contact on June 5 and June 13, 2023. The grand jury also indicted Denson on one count of criminal attempt to commit sexual abuse of another victim under the age of 12 on June 6, 2023.

Denson’s bond was set at $25,000. An arraignment was scheduled for March 22. 

Detective Joe Gilliland testified for the Stanford Police Department. 

Denson is being held in the Pulaski County Detention Center. 

Additional indictments: 

The following people were indicted by a Lincoln County grand jury on March 8:

  • Mark E. Baker, 59, of Crab Orchard: one count of cultivating marijuana (five plants or more) by knowingly and unlawfully planting, cultivating or harvesting five or more marijuana plants with the intent to sell or transfer on Oct. 6, 2023; one count of fleeing or evading police by, as a pedestrian, knowingly or wantonly disobeying a police officer’s order to stop, in attempt to elude police, thereby creating substantial risk of physical injury to Trooper Zachary Leigh; and one count of being a persistent felony offender. An arraignment was scheduled for April 26. Bail was set at $10,000. Trooper Zachary Leigh testified for the Kentucky State Police. 
  • Kevin D. McCoy, 51, of St. Catherine: one count of fleeing or evading police on Jan. 22, 2024, by knowingly or wantonly disobeying a police officer’s signal to stop his vehicle in an attempt to elude the police thereby creating a substantial risk of serious physical injury or death to the officer, Sgt. Michael Mullins and others. Bond was set at $10,000. Det. Sgt. Michael Mullins testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. 
  • Matthew C. Ellis, 34, of Stanford: one count of persistent felony offender on Feb. 5, 2023, by being a convicted felon of at least two prior felonies. Bond was set at $25,000. Deputy Mike Mullins testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. 
  • Tad J. Shelton, 38, of Hustonville: one count of possession of handgun by convicted felon on Feb. 15, 2023; one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine); and rear license not illuminated. Bond was set at $25,000. Deputy Brandon McIntosh testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. 
  • Anthony G. Thomas, 50, of Stanford: on Nov. 22, 2024, one count of possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl and methamphetamine); one count of possession of controlled substance (heroin); no or improper registration plate on motor vehicle; and failure to have automobile insurance.   • Tiffany M. Isbell, 30, of Stanford: on Nov. 22, 2024, one count of possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl and methamphetamine) and one count of possession of controlled substance (heroin). Bond was set at $10,000. Deputy Brandon McIntosh testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. 
  • William A. Preston, 61, of Danville: on Oct. 4, 2022, three counts of trafficking in controlled substances (hydrocodone, Buprenorphine and fentanyl). Bond was set at $20,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for April 26. Deputy Mike Mullins testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. 
  • Denton S. Meece, 34, of Yosemite: on June 14, 2023 one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine); careless driving; and operating a motor vehicle while operator license is suspended or revoked. Bond was set at $7,500. An arraignment has been scheduled for May 10. Deputy Brandon McIntosh testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. 
  • Wilburn J. Riddle, 63, of Stanford: on Nov. 22, 2022 one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Bond was set at $5,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for April 26. Deputy Mike Mullins testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. 
  • Tabitha N. Klop, 40, of Stanford: on Nov. 22, 2022 one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). Bond was set at $5,000. An arraignment has been scheduled for April 26. Deputy Mike Mullins testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. 
  • Joshua D. Dowell, 34, of Stanford: on June 21, 2023 one count of possession of controlled substance (methamphetamine) and one count of failure to or improper signal. Bond was set at $5,000. Deputy Brandon McIntosh testified for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
