Wheeler is Waynesburg’s next principal

Lincoln County Schools is excited to announce Tim Wheeler as the new principal at Waynesburg Elementary School.

Wheeler is currently in his third year as assistant principal at Lincoln County Middle School where he has also been a teacher and instructional coach since 2011. He has worked in education for 14 years.

Wheeler was born and raised in Marengo, Ohio, and is a 2004 graduate of Highland High School. After high school he graduated from Mount Vernon Nazerene University, then obtained a master’s and Rank 1 from the University of the Cumberlands.

“I am honored to be given the opportunity to serve as the new principal at Waynesburg Elementary,” Wheeler said. “The school is full of passionate, talented individuals that want nothing but the best for every student. I am so excited to be part of the Waynesburg story and look forward to all the future successes we will achieve as a school.”

He currently resides in the Waynesburg area with his wife, Lindsay, and their two children, Parker and Amelia. He enjoys spending time with his family, going to church, watching sports with his son, reading and playing the piano in his free time.

Wheeler was recently recognized as the 2022 KSTA Principal of the Year and received the Campbellsville Excellence in Teaching award two times in 2016 and 2018.

“Mr. Wheeler’s experiences as a teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal will help Waynesburg continue on its path to success,” Superintendent Bruce Smith said. “He has been an asset to the district for many years now and that will continue now at Waynesburg.”

He will begin transitioning into his new role as principal of Waynesburg Elementary immediately.
