“I have served the citizens of our county for several years and am thrilled to be given the opportunity to continue to do so as an SRO now,” Taylor said.

He will primarily be stationed at Crab Orchard Elementary School.

Peek is a retired Danville Police Officer and will be primarily at Hustonville Elementary School. He resides in Danville where he is an active volunteer with youth sports programs.

“I’m looking forward to being an SRO,” said Peek. “The best part of this job is being able to build relationships with students, similar to teachers, and hopefully making a positive impact on their lives for years to come.”

Taylor and SRO Peek will be helping across the district at other schools too. SPD now has five full-time SROs and will be adding two more as soon possible. In the meantime SPD will continue to service all seven schools in the district utilizing the five SROs and SPD staff.

The Lincoln County Board of Education approved adding three new SROs (for a total of seven) at its September board meeting.
