STANFORD – Veterans and their families came out to Veteran’s Park on Monday, Sept. 11 to enjoy a feast provided by the Lincoln County Veteran’s Center and the Lincoln County Veteran and Military Suicide Prevention Coalition.
The Patriot Day Cook Out provided a free meal to veterans and their families. The meal included hot dogs, hamburgers, an assortment of sides and a special cake made by local baker Kasey’s Sweet Creations.
A moment of silence and prayer was given for those lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, and the heroes who answered the call for help.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs was on hand with enrollment information, as well as information about other resources available to veterans.
