Shaker Village to host 26th annual craft fair

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is pleased to present the 26th annual Craft Fair held the weekend of Aug. 5-6. As one of Kentucky’s premier craft events, sponsored by the Kentucky Blood Center and Becky Reinhold of Bluegrass Sotheby’s,

the Shaker Village Craft Fair attracts the elite among regional artisans as well as up-and-coming new artists.

Each day from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. visitors can shop for Shaker reproductions and an assortment of handcrafted items including pottery, jewelry, glassware, woven rugs, needle craft, basketry, leather goods, floral design and more.

The fair runs through the heart of the Village along the historic turnpike and features more than 80 vendor booths, the largest assortment of vendors in the history of the craft fair. Guests can stop by the Shaker Village Bar to grab a cool drink or craft cocktail and pick up lunch or snacks from various food trucks. Live music performances will be showcased throughout the day.

Other activities include special demonstrations, exhibits, hayrides and giveaways.

General Admission is discounted for the Craft Fair at $10 for ages 13 and above, $5 for ages 6-12, and free for children five and under and all annual passholders. Admission includes entrance into the craft fair and access to all daily adventures at Shaker Village.

In other news, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill recently named Bob Gigliotti as president and CEO of the historic nonprofit organization. An experienced hospitality industry leader, Gigliotti succeeds Maynard Crossland who retired in July after 12 years of serving the Village.

Gigliotti has held several leadership roles at Shaker Village beginning in 2017 as vice president of hospitality services, and most recently as Chief Operating Officer. He has an extensive background in the hospitality industry spending more than 30 years in hotel, dual property and regional general management positions. Throughout his career he has opened four hotel properties, supervised five hotel renovations and overseen operations at historic locations including Hotel Bethlehem in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Gideon Putnam Hotel in Saratoga Springs, New York.
