Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center recognized a DAISY Nurse Leader. Kristin Steele, BSN, RN, unit facilitator on the medical/surgical unit at EMRMC, was one of many nurse leaders nominated for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. She is a resident of Mercer County and has been caring for patients at EMRMC for 28 years.

Steele was nominated by an EMRMC employee who said, “She is a rising STAR. She has served in the interim director role and also covers the unit in the director’s absence. She is an outstanding resource for all of the staff. She has several different hats, working with hemodialysis, oncology and palliative care. She is very loyal to EMRMC and is approachable. All disciplines utilize Kristin as a go-to person. She loves to get involved with unit issues to get them resolved. Excellence in patient care is her goal.”
