Vigil honors missing, murdered loved ones

The 8th annual Celebration of Life Candlelight Vigil for the Missing/Murdered Loved Ones in Kentucky was held May 20 at Delmar’s Retreat in Junction City.

The event was attended by the families of Michael Gorley, Delmar Wilson, Kevin Jackson, Kerri Monroe, Desiree Sparks, David O’Laighin as well as Wendy Fairchild Lyons with the Murder Police Podcast.

Lora Duvall with Kentucky Search and Rescue Bloodhounds also attended, as well as Michael Ward with Missing Investigation and Search Services. The family of Makayla Collette and Ben Hoskins were also in attendance. Spirit, a Search and Rescue Bloodhound, was there, as well as Chuck Daugherty, Dorothy Preston Hair, Ava Price and Chris Weldon.

The event was hosted by Sandra Hasty, Jennifer Gorley Coffey and Michael Ward. The group’s motto is “Never Lose Hope.”

The event is held every year to keep the memories of those missing and/or murdered in Kentucky alive and bring awareness to the numerous unsolved cases in Kentucky.
