Stanford departments report activity for February

The Stanford Police Department (SPD) wrote 152 citations during the month of February, according to an activity report given to city council members last week.
From Feb. 1 to Feb. 28, SPD reported a total of 751 contacts through 911.
There were 59 warnings given and police officers made a total of 18 arrests in February.

Police also worked 19 accidents.
There were 42 “incidents/cases” reported for the month as well.
Officers completed two hours of role call departmental training in February.
A total of 304 citations have been issued since the beginning of the year. Since Jan. 1, SPD has made a total of 53 arrests.
Stanford Code Enforcement also submitted a monthly report to council members.
In February, Stanford Code Enforcement reported six violations and issued 14 verbal warnings. There were two citations issued.
One sidewalk/street cut permit was issued, as well as two sign permits.
Stanford Code Enforcement also reported one certificate of occupancy and one variance request.
There were 75 business licenses issued or renewed in February.
The Stanford Code Enforcement Board met for a special meeting Jan. 30 during which they appointed George Penman as Chairman and Jon Hester as Secretary.
The board also voted to set a demolition hearing for Feb. 27 for property located at 230 Martin Luther King Street.
Code Enforcement Officer Jeff Knouse updated the board on a lien foreclosure. Knouse said City Attorney John Hackley had filed a motion in court and the process is underway.
