To give back to the community, Farmers National Bank organized a coat drive to provide winter clothing to children in need,

“We have done coat drives, but Covid put them on hold and we couldn’t get out in the community like we would have liked to,” said Vice President Commercial Loan Officer Dalton Southerland. “Coming up on this year we decided with how well the coat drives were received we decided to get back into it. The support that we received was overwhelming. It was a great experience, and I’m amazed at what we we’re able to achieve. We had north of $9,000 donated. A lot of that was internal, but a very large portion was from our customers. Walmart was a big supporter of this. They gave us a donation and gave us a team of employees to help check out, bag and load all of the clothes. We had thousands of articles of clothing to give.”

Customer Experience Manager Brant Welch said that the coat drive was very well received by local schools.

“It’s been amazing the response we have had from the local community,” Welch said. “We work with the schools in Boyle, Lincoln, Mercer, Garrard and Casey counties. In the past when we have taken donations to them they were amazed by the amount of clothing. There are a lot of children in our own backyard who have a need. It’s really cool to see how grateful and thankful they are.”
