Lincoln County Schools is excited to welcome Lauren Burnett as the new principal at Lincoln County Middle School. Mrs. Burnett will officially assume her new role at the school on July 1.
She has been the assistant principal at Boyle County High School since 2017 and before that was the Dean of Students at McNabb Middle School in Montgomery County. She also has several years of experience teaching students of all ages in the classroom, including four years as the choral director and arts and humanities teacher at Bondurant Middle School.
“We are excited to have Mrs. Burnett join our team and lead Lincoln County Middle School to reach new heights in student achievement and school culture,” said Dr. Chris Murray, Director of Secondary Schools. “At the beginning of this process, the Site Based Council and I set a detailed criteria for what we were looking for in a principal, and Mrs. Burnett meets and exceeds those criteria. Her experiences so far in her career have uniquely prepared her for the role as Lincoln County Middle School Principal. I am looking forward to working with her and seeing the middle school take off under her leadership.”
Mrs. Burnett graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2004 with a Bachelor of Music degree, then later received her Masters in Instructional Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University.
She said she is excited to get started with the students, staff and the community. “I can’t wait to meet everyone and begin building positive relationships. I want people to know that I feel blessed to accept this position and I am fully invested.”
Lauren currently resides in Harrodsburg with her husband Matt and four children (Logan, Kyra, Jayce and Aubrey). They have 3 dogs and 2 horses and she loves reading, DIY crafts, showing horses and music.
