STANFORD – A motorcycle accident on Ky. Hwy. 1194 claimed two lives last week, according to the Lincoln County Coroner.

Gregory Spencer Timberlake, 30, of Moreland, and Briana Denny, 23, of Stanford, were both pronounced dead by Lincoln County Coroner Farris Marcum at about 12:48 p.m. on Oct. 28.

Marcum said the initial investigation indicates that Timberlake was traveling eastbound on Ky. Hwy. 1194 on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

“The scene suggests that he lost control in a curve, ran off the roadway and down an embankment,” he said.

Marcum said Timberlake left his mother’s home Wednesday evening and was traveling to Stanford to visit a friend.

“When he didn’t show up, they became concerned and didn’t find him until the next day,” he said. “According to the mother of the female and some other individuals, they told me they had driven by there and they couldn’t see anything.”

Denny was a passenger on the motorcycle, Marcum said.

Both Timberlake and Denny were found in the same location.

Marcum said the cause of death for both victims was blunt force trauma.

No drugs or alcohol are suspected but because it was a motor vehicle accident a toxicology report will be completed, he said.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Tony Allen is overseeing the ongoing investigation, Marcum said.

“It’s very tragic,” he said. “We don’t really have an idea of what caused it. There were some markings in the road but, you know, there’s a lot of things. There could’ve been an animal that ran out in front of them. His mother said he was a very experienced motorcycle operator.”
