1934-2021
Kenneth Baylor Thompson, 87, of Stanford, KY passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. Born on April 5, 1934 in Stanford, KY to the late Brown and Connie Miracle Thompson. Kenneth was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary E. Thompson of Stanford, KY; one son, Kevin Dean Thompson of Stanford, KY; one daughter, Karen Lynn Wegkamp (Karl) of Utah; one brother, Frankie Dean Thompson of Stanford, KY; six grandchildren, Kandis, Kacy, Kory, Travis, Kristen and Jessica; 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Thompson; one sister, Helen Byrd; and a great-grandson, Jansin P. Murray.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 11a.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home. Burial was at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY.
Full Military Honors was presented by Caswell Saufley Post 18. Active Pallbearers will be members of Caswell Saufley Post 18. Honorary Pallbearers are Kevin Dean Thompson, Kacy Thompson, Travis Wegkamp, Kory Wegkamp, Bryson Westbrook, Justin Murray and Rod Bates, M.D.
