Marilyn Privett Ballard, 78, of Lancaster, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on Feb. 22, 1943, in Lincoln County to the late Elvin Privett and the late Edith McKee Privett. Marilyn worked as a private nurse for most of her life. She loved nursing, taking care of people and listening to gospel and country music. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Howard Ballard of Lancaster, Kentucky; three sons, Dwight Pemberton of Stanford, Kentucky, Randall Pemberton of Lancaster, Kentucky, and Myron Sims of Texas; two brothers, Gary Privett (Elsie) of McKinney, Kentucky, and Dale Privett (Vicky) of McKinney, Kentucky; one sister, Nora Kay Walls of Richmond, Kentucky; four grandchildren, thre great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Edith Privett, one daughter, Ramona Burchett; and two sisters, Sandra Griffin and Carolyn Rogers.
A one-day service has been scheduled for Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, Kentucky. Visitation will from 1-3 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ Cemetery in Lancaster, Kentucky.
Pallbearers are Matt Asberry, Payton Asberry, Hagan Asberry, Scott Evans, Thomas Evans, Dustin Evans, Jimmy Asberry and Brian Cutter.
