Lawrence “Larry” Baker, 59, of Stanford, Ky., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021 in Lexington, Ky. Born on August 9, 1961 in Pittsburg, Penn., to Robert Baker and the late Audrey Weir. Larry worked in construction for most of his life. He enjoyed farming and loved to ride motorcycles, side by sides, anything that he could drive. He loved his grandchildren more than anything, they were the highlight of his life.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sonja Blanton Baker of Stanford, KY; father, Robert Baker of Berea, Ky.; two sons, Duane Baker (Kathryn) of Stanford, Ky., and Matthew Baker of Frankfort, Ky.; two brothers, Bob Baker of Berea, Ky., and Tom Baker (Mary) of Bryantsville, Ky.; one sister, Pat Baker of Lancaster, Ky.; three grandsons, Bryce Baker, Zachary Baker and Mason Baker; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Weir; and one sister, Theresa Baker, who died in early childhood.
A one-day service has been scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, Ky. Visitation will be held from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 3:30 p.m. with Bro. Vola Brown officiating.
