David Eugene Harness, 72, of Crab Orchard, passed away Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at his home. David was born in Broughtontown, Ky., on Sept. 13, 1948, to the late William Bradford and Georgia Quintella (Smith) Harness. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ and was a retired equipment operator for the Hinkle Construction Company after 42 years of service. Survivors Include his Daughter, Amy & Husband Ben Turpin; Companion Dixie Smith and her daughter, Crystal Smith and Dixie’s son, Denny and Wife, Amanda Smith; Sister, Arlene & Husband Larry Paull; Sister, Nona & Husband Billy Griffin; Sister, Liene Ledford; Special Grandchildren: Chelsey Baker, Kristen, Blake & Landon Smith. In addition to his Parents, David was preceded in death by two Sons, Bruce & Troy Harness; A Sister, Mary Harness; three Brothers, Tubby, Jimmy & Keith Harness. Pallbearers were Denny & Blake Smith, Larry Paull, Michael Harness, Michael Griffin, Jeff Blevins, Brad Crowe & Darren Griffin Honorary Pallbearers were Kevin Harness, Tim McFerron, Ben Turpin, Johnny Mize, Kenny Roberts, Billy Griffin, Kristen & Landon Smith and the Late Tim Gimpel. Funeral Services were held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Griffin officiating. Burial followed at the Watson Cemetery.
