End season with 5-4 record

The Lincoln County Patriots ran into a buzz saw Friday in the Class 4A football playoffs in the form of the Corbin Redhounds.

Corbin ended the 2020 season for the Patriots, handing them a 38-14 loss.

The Patriots had their lowest offensive output of the year with just 168 yards rushing as a team. Clayton Davis was the top rusher with 81 yards on 17 carries. Benjamin Harris and Lee Amon followed with 36 yards on one carry and 33 yards on 11 carries respectively. Thaeden Garr added 18 yards on four carries.

Sawyer Horton was 2-for-3 passing for 96 yards, and Davis was 1-for-3 with 11 yards.

Corbin posted 205 rushing yards between five backs, led by junior Seth Mills with 126 yards on 13 carries for a pair of touchdowns. Sophomore quarterback Cameron Combs was 9-for-12 passing for 159 yards.

The Patriots end the season with a record of 5-4. They opened the season with a four-game winning streak, but then lost four of their next five games.
