Elmer Doug Smith, 76, of Crab Orchard, passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.

He was the husband of the late Phyllis (Perry) Smith who preceded him in death on March 3, 2004. Doug was born in Lincoln Co., KY on February 28, 1943. He was a son of the late Willie Clarence and Grace (Middleton) Smith. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ and a former Mason. Doug worked for several years as a School Bus Driver for the Lincoln County School System and worked many years as a farmer.

Survivors Include his three daughters: Lisa and husband Ricky Shelton, Jennifer and husband Neal Simpson, and Mary Ann and husband Tim McFerron, all of Crab Orchard; two brothers: Donald Smith of Louisville and Roy Smith of Lexington; nine grandchildren: Raven, Nikolas and Nicole Shelton, Brittany and husband Cody Hall, Ashley Simpson, Laken, Payton, Ava and Ella McFerron

In addition to his wife and parents, Doug was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Douglas Smith and a brother, Bobby Smith

Pallbearers include: Brett, Bart, Terry and Jarrett Smith, Jimmy Middleton and Rocky Johnson

Honorary pallbearers are: his nine grandchildren – Raven, Brittany, Ashley, Laken, Payton, Ava, Ella, Nickolas and Nicole.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2020 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.
