The Lincoln County Middle School boys basketball teams have reached the end of their regular-season schedule, closing out the season at home against Garrard County Middle School Saturday.

In the past two weeks the Eagles have capped two seasons, the back-and-forth battle between LCMS and its Salt River Conference (SRC) foes reached its end in regular-season play on Jan. 8.

The Eagles basketball teams closed the the overall regular season and the SRC regular season with sweeps, going 1-2-3 against Garrard at home and taking down West Jessamine Middle School on the road at Nicholasville.

Lincoln dominated Garrard in the regular-season finale, cruising 53-27 in the sixth-grade game, romping 63-19 in the seventh-grade matchup and rolling 64-27 in the eighth-grade nightcap.

The sixth-grade Eagles, who edged West 53-50 in the SRC outing, finished as conference runner-up and the No. 2 seed in the postseason tournament. The seventh-grade team, which romped 61-27, entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed. The Eagle eighth-graders, 59-45 victors at West, finished as regular-season champion and earned the tourney’s No. 1 seed.

The sixth-grade team, coached by Lewis Cummins, is 30-9 overall, 10-2 in the SRC. The seventh-grade team, led by Carl-Lewis Cummins, is 18-11 overall, 7-5 in the SRC. And the eighth-grade Eagles, coached by Eric Ralston, are 27-5 overall, 11-1 in the conference.
