Mrs. Charalambakis took over her role with the school in November..

Charalambakis is a graduate of the University of Kentucky where she received a B.A. in Social Work and a Master of Social Work Degree. She joins Crab Orchard Elementary from Woodford County Schools and Scott County Schools. She has an extensive background working with organizations that help with extreme poverty, world hunger, human trafficking and victims of abuse and sexual violence.

“My role will be to serve our staff, and most of all, our kids,” Mrs. Charalambakis said. “I know there is a lot of brokenness they bring into the building; my prayer and vision as a counselor is to make sure that all the kids in the building feel loved, advocated for and cared for by meeting their needs not only on an academic level but on an emotional and psychological level as well.”

“I know everyone is thinking it’s extremely intimidating and difficult to pronounce my last name,” Charalambakis jokingly said. “But I promise you it’s not. The C is silent, and it’s pronounced ‘har-lim-bah-kiss,’ don’t let the C fool you! It’s totally fine to just go with Mrs. Deb too.“

Mrs. Charlambakis office is located at Crab Orchard Elementary. You can contact her there at 606.355.2331 or via email at Deborah.charalambakis@lincoln.kyschools.us.
