Joseph Glen “Joe” Denny, 79, of Broughtontown passed away Sunday, November 24, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center in Somerset.

He was the husband of Shirley (Bishop) Denny whom he married on November, 26, 1957. Joe was born in Lincoln County, on April 15, 1940, to the late Charlie and Delia (Rector) Denny. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and groundskeeper.

Survivors Include his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley Bishop Denny; six children: Jimmy Denny and wife Rose, Jean and husband Charles Mullins, Linda and husband Dan Goff, Sheila Keniry, Randy Denny, and Marvin Denny and fiancee’ Jody Clements; brother, Brad Denny; three sisters, Ruby Harness, Eva Jennings and Betty Harris; former son-in-law, Shane Keniry; 11 grandchildren: Amanda, Melissa, Chad, Kevin, Chris, Jennifer, Miranda, Angel, Scott, Ashley and Jacob; 13 great-grandchildren: Dylan, Koty, Destiny, Daniel, Caleb, Chloe, Noah, Jonah, Logan, Konnor, Chayse, Emree and Kinley.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Denny; brothers, Carl, Edward, Jasper, Ray, Loles, and Charles Denny, Jr; and sisters, Virginia Reynolds, Edith Manuel, Margie Harness, Willa May Caldwell, Evelyn Broughton and Julie Chamberlain.

Serving as pallbearers are Marvin, Randy and Chris Denny, Dylan Turpin, Koty Turpin, Chad and Charles Mullins.

Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Darrell Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 26 at Friendship Baptist Church, 15 Friendship Church Road, Crab Orchard, Kentucky.
