Jacobs receives Gates Auto Group scholarship

RICHMOND — Hannah Jacobs, a 2019 Lincoln County High School graduate and Eastern Kentucky University Upward Bound Program student, is the recipient of the inaugural Gates Auto Group Scholarship.
The $2,000 scholarship was awarded to Jacobs for demonstrating tenacity and the courage to follow her educational dreams. Jacobs successfully completed three years of the Upward Bound Program and 30 dual credit hours. She is attending Eastern Kentucky University to earn a degree in Criminal Justice.
Steve Gates, owner of Gates Auto Group, and his wife, Kathy, presented the scholarship at the EKU Upward Bound Ceremony. Gates said the qualities that Jacobs possess are the characteristics needed to be a successful first-generation college student.
