The Fly Sam Fly 5K Run/Walk, held in memory of Sam Singleton, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 29, in downtown Stanford.

Start time for the race is 2:30 p.m., with runners setting off on the 5K race on Main Street. The 3.1-mile race will take participants through the sidestreets of Stanford and then bring them back onto Main.

Singleton, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 13, was known for always having a smile on his face and always having an encouraging or kind word for his teammates and friends. He was an avid runner who also loved drama, canoeing, hamsters and so much more.

Proceeds from this event will go to The Sam Singleton Scholarship Fund.

The registration fee is $20 and interested runners and walkers can sign up for the race online.
