Will Carnes of Stanford, a sophomore at Somerset Christian School, has been selected as a member of the 2019 Bassmaster High School All-State Fishing Team presented by Academy Sports and Outdoors.

His selection was based on success in high school fishing tournament competition, academic achievement, and leadership in conservation and community service.

Over 400 high school students from across the nation were nominated for the award. A panel of judges selected 62 student anglers from 35 states to make the All-State Fishing Team.

A second panel of judges will review the All-State team members and select 12 members to the 2019 Bassmaster High School All-American Fishing Team. The 12 finalists will compete in a one-day Bassmaster All-American High School Bass Tournament held during the 2019 Toyota Bassmaster Texas Fest.

Carnes is the son of Stan and Heidi Carnes.
