Opal Bishop Adams, 88

Opal Bishop Adams, 88, of Crab Orchard, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Rockcastle County Hospital in Mount Vernon.
Opal was born in Brodhead, Kentucky on February 12, 1930, to the late William and Amy (Weaver) Bishop. She loved playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, reading, dancing and most of all spending time with her family.
Survivors include her eight children, daughters, Wanda Toney, Dorothy and husband Dillard Saylor, Judy and husband Stanley Petrey, Carolyn and husband Dale Townsend, Gerri and husband Kenny Elder, Juanita and husband Mark Rousey, and sons, Eugene Adams, and Randy Adams and wife Peggy; brothers, Ed Bishop and wife Margie and Ervin Bishop and wife June; two ex son-in-laws, Jimmy White and Jesse Turner; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Opal was preceded in death by two daughters, Arlene Adams and Vivian Denny; two sons, Herschel and Jessie Adams, Jr.; sister, Martha Simpson; three brothers, Melvin, Elmer and Albert Bishop; grandson, Heath Dewayne Toney; son-in-law, Theodore Toney.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m., today (Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019) at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Zandall Hasty officiating. Burial will be in the Adams Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Eugene Adams, Stan Petrey, Bryan, Wayne and Ronnie Saylor, John White and Casie Allen.
