CAL edges Lincoln girls in OT

Maddy Boyle burned the nets for 29 points, Kaitlynn Wilks poured in 24 points and Emma King finished with 15 points Saturday at Franklin County in the Centria Metals/Penn Station Shootout, but it wouldn’t be cnough to carry Lincoln to victory.
Christian Academy of Louisville would hand Lincoln its first loss, edging out an 80-79 win over the Lady Patriots in overtime.
Both teams were undefeated heading into the matchup. CAL is now 7-0 and Lincoln is 4-1.
Boyle earned her team-high 29 points on 11-for-17 shooting, Wilks earned her 24 points off 7-for-11 shooting and a 10-for-12 stint at the foul line and King converted on 7 of 22 shot attempts for her 15 points.
Wilks and King both finished with double-doubles as Wilks grabbed 11 rebounds and King had 10 in a 42-32 win on the glass.
Lincoln shot 40.6 percent from the field, going 28-for-69 overall, 2 of 16 from 3, and was 21-for-35 at the foul line.
Arina Khlopkova led a quartet of Lady Centurions in double figures, going 9-for-19 from the field and 9-for-15 at the line for 29 points. Sarah McDonald and Mia Beam both contributed 14 points for CAL and Sydney Raque scored 13 points.
The Lady Centurions shot 45.2 percent in the game, going 28-for-62, 12-for-29 from 3-point range. At the line. CAL was 12-for-21.
Khlopkova and McDonald led CAL on the boards with eight rebounds apiece. Jaya McClure had six boards.
