Raymond “Bud” Hooker, 79, of Junction City, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Charleston Healthcare in Danville.
Born November 7, 1939, in Crab Orchard, Raymond was a son of the late Shelton and Edith Gaunce Hooker. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as a corpsman. He was a former employee of Whirlpool, Inc., Sargent and Greenleaf, and the V.A. Medical Center where he worked in patient transport.
Survivors include two nephews, John Oliver (Yvonne) of Danville and Jim Oliver of Salvisa; four great-nieces, Elizabeth Dunnigan Fair of Somerset, Katie Oliver, Jessica Ann Oliver, and Jessica Seay; and two great-nephews, Matthew Seay and John Paul Oliver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Ann Oliver; and a niece, Anne Oliver.
Visitation is tonight (Thursday, Nov. 29) from 5 to 8 p.m. at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel, Stanford. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford. Military rites will be provided by Caswell Saufley Post #18.
