On Sunday, Oct. 21, Jerry Hampton sang a special – “The Touch of the Master’s Hand”. As an old violin was being auctioned off, a bid of only $3 was the going price. An old man stood up, picked up the violin, and adjusted the strings. He astounded the crowd with the beautiful music coming from that old violin that no one wanted. Bidding reopened and $3,000 was the final bid. All it took was the “touch of a master’s hand.” “The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought by “the touch of the Master’s Hand.”
Bro. Kyle’s message was “When Loss Is Gain” with the text coming from 1 Thessalonians 1:5b-8. As Paul and Silas followed Jesus, the Thessalonians followed their example. They welcomed the message of joy in the midst of pain, persecution, etc.
In Philippians, Paul said his sacrifice was gain in knowing Jesus and he counted it as joy. “Joy should mark a believer’s life,” stated Bro. Kyle. He went on to say, “Happiness is short lived because happiness is temporary. True happiness comes in knowing Jesus as our personal Savior.”

Thought for the week: “How is being a Christian like being a pumpkin? God picks you from a patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off you. Cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc. . . and then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see!”
