Photos by Nancy Leedy SHOOT HOOPS Not Drugs campers raced to see which shooters could get 5, 7 or 10 baskets in the fastest time near the end of the three-hour camp.
Jarrod Polson, former University of Kentucky basketball player and four-time All-SEC Academic Team member, led Operation Unite’s free Shoot Hoops Not Drugs Camp Monday night at Lincoln County High School.
All school-age youth were invited to attend and each received a free t-shirt and basketball autographed by Polson.
Polson presented a positive, anti-drug message in conjunction with basketball skills instruction. During a camp huddle, Polson stressed the importance of staying safe and being drug-free while playing basketball.
