Clifford M. Murphy, 78, of KY Hwy 501, Kings Mountain, Ky., passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford.
Born Tuesday, April 23, 1940, in Kings Mountain, he was the son of the late Vernon and Anna Sims Murphy. His loving wife, whom he married October 22, 1965, is Leona Hatfield Murphy of Kings Mountain. Clifford retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and was a member of the Stanford Church of the Nazarene. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife, Clifford leaves behind five sons, Cliff Murphy, Jr. and Albert Wynne Murphy both of Kings Mountain, Rodney Lynn Murphy (Carla) of McKinney, Leroy Murphy of London, and Larry Murphy (Jill) of Owensville, Ohio; two daughters, Anita Suzette Murphy of Kings Mountain and Misty Leann Murphy of London; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jeff Murphy (Tonya) of Waynesburg; four sisters, Fern Roberts of Stanford, Clara Ann Mitchell (Kenneth) of Waynesburg, Barbara Eldridge of Crittenden, and Brenda Yocum (Alvin) of Kings Mountain; and several other extended family and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Clifford was preceded in death by one daughter, Landa Kaye Pike; and one brother, Henley Murphy.
Funeral services were Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home with Bro. Buford Edwards II and Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating the service. Burial followed in KP Hall Cemetery.
Tommy Murphy, Kenny Smith, Cecil Rowland, Johnny Greer, Rodney Adams, and Johnny Yocum served as active pallbearers. Vernon Mitchell was honorary pallbearer.
Barnett, Demrow & Friend Funeral Home, Waynesburg, was entrusted with Clifford’s arrangements.
