McKinney Elementary School students participated in their own Kid-Tucky Derby on Friday, May 4.

Mrs. Jennifer Malone, kindergarten teacher, did a lesson about the derby and the derby history leading up to the race.

The Kid-Tucky Derby winners for the day were first-place winning jockey Kyndall Clark on her horse Brown Long, second-place winner Brayden Coffman on his horse Toby Lightning, third-place winner Damarrea Pittman on his horse Castle, and fourth-place winner Cooper Marlow on his horse Lightning Speed.
